German Shepherd ‘Demi’ Sniffs Out Cannabis on Her Field Debut in Amreli

In a significant first for Amreli district, the Special Operations Group (SOG) successfully seized 1.394 kg of dry cannabis during a raid in the Hanumanpara area of Amreli city, with critical assistance from a newly trained sniffer dog named Demi. Demi, a two-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd, was on her maiden field operation when she identified the contraband hidden inside a wooden cabinet. Acting on a tip-off, the SOG raided a house near a school, where Demi’s alert led to the discovery and recovery of the cannabis bundle. One suspect was arrested, and items including a mobile phone and a bike, valued at Rs 54,190, were seized.
